3. What is Chlorogenic Acid?

A. Chlorogenic acids (CGA) are the antioxidants found in green coffee bean extract which are responsible for its weight control properties and other health benefits.

4. Will I get the same benefits from just drinking a lot of coffee?

A. Ordinary coffee is made from roasted coffee beans. The benefits of green coffee extract are linked to chlorogenic acid, which is destroyed when the beans are roasted.

5. Does green coffee bean extract help you lose weight?

A. Several controlled, randomized clinical trials indicate that green coffee extract is moderately effective at helping you lose weight.

6. Can take after eating?

A. You can, but for best results take your supplement 30 min before meals, with a glass of water.

7. Can you put Green Coffee Bean Extract in food?

A. Unroasted coffee is rather bitter so it probably wouldn’t taste very good! For the best effects, you should take the supplement with a glass of water 30 mintutes before eating.

8. Starbucks Refreshers™ beverages contain green coffee bean extract – How safe is this supplement?

A. Unless you are allergic to coffee or caffeine, it is a very safe supplement. However most green coffee supplements contain some caffeine. If you need to avoid caffeine due to a medication you are taking or some other health condition, GCBE is probably not the best choice for you. Speak with your doctor.

9. Does Green coffee bean extract have any side effects?

A. If you are sensitive to caffeine, you may experience the same mild side effects as you would from drinking a cup of caffeinated coffee or tea.
If you are diabetic, the chlorogenic acid in green coffee extract may interfere with some diabetic medications. Please check with your doctor!
If you are on any birth control pills, it shouldn’t be a problem. Currently, there are no studies to indicate that it interferes or interacts with oral contraceptives in any manner.
However other ingredients such as raspberry ketone (which suppresses androgen), can potentially have an effect on your hormonal balance and may be incompatible with some types of birth control. If you have any concerns at all, ask your physician.

10. Is it OK to take it if I work out?

A. Yes! Regular exercise and healthy eating habits will make the supplement even more effective!

11. Are there other health benefits?

There are some clinical studies which suggest GCBE may be effective in controlling high blood pressure. Check with your doctor to make sure it won’t interfere with your current medication.
